Homelessness charity, Emmaus Mossley is appealing for local people with suitable experience to join its Board of Trustees.

Emmaus Mossley is looking for skilled and experienced people to help drive forward the charity’s work and support even more homeless people in Greater Manchester to get off the streets. Emmaus Mossley supports formerly homeless people by providing them with a home and work in a community setting.

Trustees are vital to the work of Emmaus Mossley. Without their support, scrutiny and challenge the charity and its social enterprise would not be able to grow and operate effectively. The role of a trustee can be demanding, but ultimately very rewarding, as their contribution helps to make positive changes to people’s lives.

Frances Hirst was elected to the Emmaus Mossley Board of Trustees in 1998. After a career in the newspaper industry, Frances first became involved with Emmaus in 1997, when she volunteered to help raise awareness of the charity.

Frances Hirst, now Chair of Trustees at Emmaus Mossley, said:

Being a trustee at Emmaus has been one of the most rewarding things I have ever done. The Board of Trustees works together to oversee the charity and we are always keen to bring in people with different skills to enable us to meet future development goals.

First and foremost we are looking for passionate and dedicated people. Experience of health & safety, housing, finance, welfare benefits, business development or retail would be an added benefit. If you are interested in a trustee role at Emmaus Mossley then I would urge you to get in touch.

Emmaus Mossley supports 26 companions by giving them a home, meaningful work in a social enterprise and an opportunity to regain lost self-esteem to help rebuild their lives. You too could join ten other trustees at Emmaus Mossley in making an impact on companion’s lives and helping other people faced with homelessness.
