We are delighted to share the news that our member organisation, St Barnabas' Church, have successfully achieved Action Together's Quality in Action Award after demonstrating excellence in every category of the award.

The Quality in Action Award is a recognised framework for voluntary, community, faith and social enterprise (VCFSE) organisations working across Oldham, Rochdale and Tameside to prove their impact. The award is an independent, local seal of approval which publicly demonstrates commitment to safeguarding, quality assurance and continuous improvement.

St Barnabas' Church take pride in providing support to the local community, offering a safe space for warmth, worship and inclusive activities.

" We feel both relief but also proud of the many, many people who have been involved in the preparation of the material that we eventually included in the successful QiA dossier. This will help us in a number of ways. Firstly, a local organisation that itself exemplifies quality deems our processes to be consistent. Secondly, it offers a sense of kudos: we are recognised as an organisation that knows the importance of doing things well. And, thirdly, we can show any potential funder that Action Together has deemed us to be Quality in the way we act, which (we trust) inspires them to trust us as well.

To any organisations thinking about completing the QiAA. Be thorough.  Aim high. Be prepared to confront your own inadequacies and use the QiA as a chance to find out how to do things better. Aim to do the best in order to be the best!

We thank all our sponsors and funders. We thank our many,  many volunteers and supporters." - Revd Dr Paul Monk

How can my organisation apply for the Quality in Action Award?

You'll work alongside one of our dedicated Development Officers to meet criteria that ensures your organisation has the right things in place, with practical advice, resources and support to help you develop the policies and procedures that are right for you. The QiAA is free and open to groups of any size. By achieving the award you'll be able to demonstrate to local commissioners, funders, beneficiaries and other stakeholders that you are delivering quality activities and services.
