Aims/priorities: The object of the funding programme is to increase the wellbeing of communities of Black Caribbean and African people in Greater Manchester. Priorities include:
- COVID-19 We will prioritise work that helps people suffering from the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic or supports recovery from the Covid-19 pandemic.
- High Risk Communities We will prioritise work with people from Black and African communities identified as ‘higher risk including those experiencing: long-term health problems; domestic abuse; poor or worsening mental or physical health; interrupted or limited access to advice and services; homelessness and insecure shelter; the increasingly hostile environment faced by migrants, undocumented groups, people seeking asylum and refugees; communities with no recourse to public funds.
You can use the funding to extend your existing activities or for new activities. This funding can be used for a wide range of activities including:
- Advice & Advocacy
- Information-giving
- One to one emotional and practical support
- Group support
- Training and workshops
- Group activities
- Provision of equipment or food
- Cultural Festivals and events
Who can apply? Organisation must be Black-led (i.e. have 51% or more people on their management committee or Board are of Caribbean or African ethnicity)
Grant amount: The grants are for £5000, £10,000, or £15,000
Application process: Applications can either be written in English or French, or by video.
Deadline: The closing date for applications is midnight on Sunday 4 July 2021
