Make it Big with Pathway Fund

Aims/priorities: This fund aims to support charities and social enterprises with grant funding, bespoke support, and training, to help groups build operational readiness and financial resilience, raise social investment, and in some instances, prepare for asset acquisition.

The fund will focus on two impact areas:

  • Climate and racial equity.
  • Poverty alleviation and racial equity.

Who can apply? To apply, groups must:

  • Be legally incorporated as a charity, community interest company, or community benefit society.
  • Have a clearly stated mission to support issues impacting black and global majority communities in the organisation’s governing document/constitution.
  • Reinvest at least 51% of surpluses into pursuing their social mission and have a constitutional or contractual lock on their social mission, dividend, and surplus distribution policy.
  • Have an annual income of between £100,000 and £500,000.
  • Be able to provide at least the last two years' full accounts and provide an annual budget and cash flow projection.
  • Have at least 75% directors, trustees, or equivalent governing body members from black and global majority communities.

Grant amount: 12 grants of £30,000 are available.

Application process: The application process is as follows:

  • Applicants must first submit an expression of interest. The deadline to submit an expression of interest is 16 November 2023.
  • Shortlisted applicants will then undergo an organisational health check. This will be completed by 16 December 2023.
  • Groups will then receive support and training to create a full grant proposal. Once approved, the final steps of the due diligence process and processing of any awarded grants will take place in February 2024.

Drop-in sessions will take place every Wednesday and Friday from 12:00 to 13:00 from 11 October 2023 to 15 November 2023.
