The Sustainable Food Sector of Greater Manchester would like to invite you to the launch of the Greater Manchester Sustainable Food Vision.

Last December over 100 groups in the sustainable food sector came together to share ideas about how Greater Manchester can become a Sustainable Food City and prioritise how we make this vision a reality.

With the positive input from across the sector they identified six core objectives:

  • Promoting Healthy and Sustainable food
  • Tackling Food Poverty
  • Building Sustainable Food Knowledge and Skills
  • Promoting a Sustainable Food Economy
  • Transforming Catering and Food Procurement
  • Reducing Waste and the Ecological Footprint of the Food System

The official launch of the Sustainable Food Vision is on Thursday 19 October at 7pm at Bridge 5 Mill, Ancoats, Manchester.

The evening will be an informal get together with wine and nibbles, and will provide an opportunity for you to share ideas and network with others passionate about sustainable food and have a think about how we as a sector can take this food vision forward.

They will have copies of the final food vision hot off the press for you, and will be sharing the sustainable food vision as an electronic resource after the launch.

The launch is being combined with a lovely photo exhibition about local sustainable production in England and Wales that they're hosting at Bridge 5 Mill. You can find out more information via this link.

If you would like to come along please can you RSVP to emily@kindling.org.uk and she will pop you on the guest list.
