Jigsaw Foundation

Aims/priorities: Through the Jigsaw Foundation, Jigsaw Group provides a community funding programme to support local projects run by charities, resident and community groups, voluntary organisations, social enterprises and partner agencies in the North West and East Midlands.

The Jigsaw Foundation funding programme seeks to make a difference to the lives of Jigsaw Homes Group residents and their communities through projects in the following areas:

  • Health and wellbeing and social inclusion.
  • Employment, individual capacity building, enterprise and training.
  • Environmental improvement.
  • Sustaining tenancies.
  • Financial and digital inclusion.

Eligible costs include those which fit the themes of Jigsaw Foundation funding and will benefit the community, including:

  • Putting on an event, activity or performance.
  • Buying new equipment or materials.
  • Running training courses.
  • Setting up a pilot project or starting up a new group.
  • Paying expenses for volunteers, costs for sessional workers or professional fees.
  • Transport costs.
  • Staffing costs.

Who can apply? Applications will be accepted from charities, residents and community groups, voluntary organisations, social enterprises and local partner agencies.

All applicants must comprise a constituted group, have an equal opportunities statement, insurance and a bank account with at least two signatories who are not related and do not live at the same address.

Projects must take place within and benefit residents within Jigsaw Group neighbourhoods and must benefit more than one individual. Applications which are resident-led are particularly welcomed.

Grant amount: The maximum grant available for a project is £28,000; however, this varies for some Jigsaw neighbourhoods.

The following criteria apply:

  • Projects applying for £24,999 or less will be voted on by local Jigsaw residents who will decide whether funding should be allocated via the Jigsaw Rewards resident engagement platform.
  • Projects applying for £25,000 and over will be reviewed by the Jigsaw Homes Executive Management Team.

Details of the funding amounts available in each Jigsaw location can be found at the Jigsaw Foundation website.

Application process: The application form and guidance notes are available from the website of the Jigsaw Foundation.

Deadline: Applications can be made at any time while funding remains or until the deadline, which is expected to be in August 2021.
