Dementia Awareness Week

Dementia Awareness Week
Published date:
Wednesday, 3rd May 2017

Plans are well underway for Dementia Awareness Week and the Forget-me-not programme. All knitters and crafters, including schools are doing an amazing job making the flowers. The intergenerational programme is raising vital awareness of what it is like to live with Dementia.

Angela Wild from Public Health would like to invite you to a launch at Stamford Park, Ashton-under-Lyne, on the Tuesday, 9 May, to showcase the flowers that have been planted. The Alzheimer’s Society will be on hand in the Café to give advice/information to anyone who needs it. Tameside Radio’s outside broadcast team will be attending and live chats with people will take place.

Book onto a Dementia Friends session today at www.dementiafriends.org.uk.

Can you knit or crochet forget-me-nots and donate them by 14th of May? Click here to download the pattern.
