Climate Action Fund

Aims/priorities: Funding is intended to support projects which focus on the link between nature and climate and use nature to encourage more community-led climate action.

Who can apply?  Applications will be considered from community-led partnerships that are made up of a mix of organisations from different sectors, either locally or UK-wide partnerships delivered across at least two UK countries.

Both new partnerships and ones that have already been set up are eligible.

The following types of organisations are eligible to speak on behalf of the partnership:

  • Voluntary and community organisation
  • Registered charity
  • Charitable incorporated organisation (CIO)
  • Community interest company (CIC)
  • School
  • Community benefit society
  • Co-operative society
  • Not for profit company limited by guarantee.

Grant amount: Grants of up to £1.5 million over two to five years are available, with most projects between £300,000 and £500,000.

Development grants of £50,000 to £150,000 over 12 to 18 months are also available.

Application process: The criteria and online application form are available on the National Lottery Community Fund website.

There will be virtual information events on the following days:

  • 26 July 2022, 12 to 1pm.
  • 23 August 2022, 12 to 1pm.
  • 23 August 2022, 5 to 6pm.
  • 27 September 2022, 12 to 1pm.

Deadline: The programme is open on a rolling basis.
