Church Urban Fund - Refugee Support Small Grants

Aims/priorities:

Church Urban Fund is delivering this funding in partnership with Benefact Trust.

Funding is intended to aid refugees by:

  • Providing basic needs such as safe accommodation, clothing, food, mobile phones, baby care items and hygiene items.
  • Helping with settlement into life in England via UK life courses, befriending, English language classes, baby and toddler groups, welcome parties and drop-in sessions.
  • Providing safe spaces and networks of support.

Eligible Expenditure:

  • Grants must be used for specific projects and activities, including:
  • Personal items such as clothing, mobile phones, bicycles, baby items.
  • Expenses for volunteers or facilities.
  • Integration and settling activities.
  • Language support.
  • Home items.

Funding is primarily intended to support Ukrainian refugees, but work with Afghan refugees will also be considered.

Projects should be complete within six months or grant award or by the end of June 2023, whichever comes sooner.

Who can apply?

  • Organisations must be Christian churches or registered Christian charities to apply.
  • Charities must be recognised members of Churches Together in England. Churches must be in good harmony with other Christian churches in their locality.

Amount: Grants of £500 to £5,000 are available

How to apply: 

Applications are open on a rolling basis until 31 March 2023, with decisions expected within one month of receiving all the necessary information.
