Armed Forces Covenant Trust - Afghanistan Veterans' Fund

Aims/priorities: The funding is intended for UK charities for projects that improve wellbeing, resilience and promote good mental health for veterans who have served in Afghanistan and other recent conflicts and the wider veterans community.

Who can apply? 

To apply under Strands 1-3, applicants must be a registered charity that specifically supports Armed Forces communities, that has been registered for at least three years.

To apply under Strand 4, applications are accepted from:

  • Registered charities that specifically supports Armed Forces communities, that has been registered for at least two years.
  • Registered charities with substantial recent experience of supporting Armed Forces communities that has been registered for at least two years.
  • Community Interest Companies (CIC) that specifically supports Armed Forces communities, that has been registered for at least two years.

Grant amount

  • Strand 1 - grants of up to £100,000 for projects lasting up to two years.
  • Strand 2 - grants of up to £300,000.
  • Strand 3 - grants of up to £100,000 for projects lasting up to two years.
  • Strand 4 - grants of up to £35,000 for projects lasting up to one year. Under this Strand, enhanced grants of up to £70,000 are also available.
