Volunteering

Welcome to Action Together’s Volunteer Centre

We offer support, information and guidance to Oldham, Rochdale and Tameside residents on a wide range of volunteering opportunities.

We are a volunteer brokerage service that helps organisations in Oldham, Rochdale and Tameside find volunteers. You can find local volunteering opportunities from hundreds of organisations on this page.

CORONAVIRUS COMMUNITY HELP AND VOLUNTEERING

People all across Oldham, Rochdale and Tameside give their time freely to help others and make their communities a better place. In light of the Coronavirus pandemic, that support is needed even more, and lots of people want to find ways they can help. You can register for formal volunteering on this page.

There are a number of ways you can help as an individual:

BEING A GOOD NEIGHBOUR AND ORGANISING SUPPORT IN YOUR COMMUNITY (MUTUAL AID)

You do not need to register with Action Together if you are interested in local community volunteering, such as shopping for a neighbour.

Visit our Mutual Aid page for advice and information on setting up and volunteering for a mutual aid group: https://www.actiontogether.org.uk/mutual-aid

If you are assisting someone who is self-isolated, please remember to follow the necessary social distancing precautions. The government have produced guidance on How To Help Safely: https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/coronavirus-how-to-help-safel...

You can also help local charities to help others by making a donation. Visit our dedicated coronavirus page for information on how to support local charities: https://www.actiontogether.org.uk/covid-19#Donating

VOLUNTEERING

If you are a group looking for volunteers, information or advice please visit our coronavirus page: https://www.actiontogether.org.uk/covid-19
