Volunteer Driver for Activity Group
This is a rewarding role that will enable you to connect with, and make a real and lasting difference to, the lives of older people who are experiencing social isolation or loneliness. This is a driving role that enables older people to be able to get to and from an activity group in the community.

Tasks the volunteer will be required to do:
In this role, the volunteer driver will communicate with group coordinator to ensure people know how they will be getting to the venue and what to expect. The volunteer driver will collect 1-2 people from their homes and take them to a group in the community, the driver will stay to socialise, and then return people home.
The group is on the 4th Thursday of the month, 2-4pm
Training:
Online training modules and an induction to the role are provided by Re-engage.
Requirements: Own vehicle required, Driving license

Re-engage, a charity dedicated to ending loneliness in older people, is searching for more volunteers to help run its free monthly tea parties for people aged 75 and over, who are lonely, isolated or in need of companionship.
These social gatherings provide a lifeline of friendship for older people who can often go days without any social contact. Volunteering for Re-engage can be an incredibly rewarding experience and you will receive support and training to help you get the most out of your role.
