We are looking for more mentors across Greater Manchester to meet the demand of mentees. One Million Mentors is a unique, community-based mentoring programme, bringing together local young people and volunteer mentors who give an hour a month for up to a year. The aim is to increase young people's career chances by providing them with a full trained mentor who will encourage them and give them insight into their own professional experience. You will meet with your mentee for 1 hour a month for 1 year.

Tasks the volunteer will be required to do:

- Sign up as a Mentor on our platform: https://1mm.chronus.com/p/p1

- Complete the Online Training

- You will be matched with a mentee based on the information you each put in your Profiles

- You can be matched with a mentee individually or we may invite you to sign up to a program through a Youth Partner (schools/colleges/youth organisations) where a cohort of mentors and mentees will conduct their monthly mentoring sessions simultaneously

- Most mentoring will most likely be a mix of face-to-face and online sessions but infrequently completely online or completely face-to-face, depending on the needs of the mentee/mentor/Youth Partner

- We will be there to support you if you have any issues, you will have monthly check-ins and there are also online workshops you can attend to further expand your training

- Share your knowledge, skills & passion

- Change a young person's life
Training:

Initial training is online and takes 3 hours to complete

Following this, support is available if needed, and we also run extra workshops for you to take the opportunity to meet other mentors and expand on your online training. Our next workshop is running online on 20th March 6-8pm.
