Volunteer Mentors for Students - One Million Mentors

We have many young people signed up as Mentees at Oldham 6th Form to begin Mentoring NEXT WEEK and are in need of a few more mentors to be matched with the students. The program is running on Wednesday mornings once a month from 13th March till January, 9-10am. Tasks the volunteer will be required to do:

- Sign up as a Mentor on our platform: https://1mm.chronus.com/p/p1

- Complete the Online Training

- You will be matched with a mentee based on the information you each put in your Profiles

- Attend the launch of this program and induction on 13th March 9-11am at Oldham 6th Form College

- Attend all future sessions (1 hour, once a month, till January, excluding August)

- We will be there to support you if you have any issues, you will have monthly check-ins and there are also online workshops you can attend to further expand your training

- Share your knowledge, skills & passion

- Change a young person's life

Training:

Initial training is online and takes 3 hours to complete

Following this, support is available if needed, and we also run extra workshops for you to take the opportunity to meet other mentors and expand on your online training

Requirements: Willing to travel by public transport or find own way to volunteering location
Skill and Qualifications Required:

To be a mentor, all you need is 5 years work experience or (2 years post-graduate)

Because we provide you with all the training and support you need, we just need you to be someone who is a good listener and cares about the problems young people in Manchester are facing today
