Activity Volunteer

We have several new and exciting groups to deliver at The Anthony Seddon Fund. These are a Creative Arts group for 19-25 year olds, a Cooking group and a Music Wellbeing group. The aim of the group is to help reduce loneliness and isolation in Tameside. This could be but it not limited to people who live alone, live in shared accommodation but don't feel part of a group or for carer's who don't experience much social interactions. We are looking for volunteers who have a passion for arts and crafts, photography, cooking, music or anything creative that would benefit one of these groups.

About the host organisation

Organisation Profile: We are a Peer Support Mental Health Charity, providing a safe environment for you to come and chat. We do not offer counselling or therapy, but what we can do is offer a friendly, welcoming environment and listen extremely well. Plus we make a great cup of tea! If we aren’t the right place for you, we endeavour to ensure you leave us with the information you need to find the correct service and support for you. Volunteers have played an integral part of our journey to date, and still remain absolutely vital to what we do. We could not do this without them! The majority of our volunteers have lived experience of mental health issues and utilise these experiences to support others. They are essential in helping us to provide lived experience peer support groups in Tameside. The Aims of The Anthony Seddon Fund To provide a safe space that promotes social interactions and support networks to aid prevention, recovery and management of any mental health issue To positively influence service provision for those affected by mental health issues and their families, friends and carers by actively promoting and representing the views of people with lived experience To work in partnership with other organisations and agencies in meeting these objectives
