Social Media and Website Volunteer - Friends of Hattersley Station

Volunteers are needed to maintain the Friends of Hattersley Station Facebook page and website. We would like volunteers who can create engaging content that promotes the work we do at the station, to help us to find new volunteers, and to share information about any activities or events that we run. This is a volunteer role that can be done from home. Volunteers will need to visit the station occasionally to get photos and videos to share on the Facebook page and on the website.

About the host organisation

Hosted by: Friends of Hattersley Station
Organisation Profile: Our group, working with volunteers, residents and other agencies, has undertaken various projects in and around the station that have improved and enhanced its appearance as well as making its environs safer for users. Main areas of work are painting, litter picking, gardening, environmental work such as building compost heaps, putting up bird boxes and building insect homes. We are actively involved with local schools through art and poetry competitions. Currently we have a very large ongoing gardening project that will take several years to complete. This involves digging, clearing and improving the soil, planting out plants and seeds. We will be installing several large planters and some benches to create a 'park' area as well as creating a wildflower garden. We organise community events, such as Santa's Grotto, a Carol Service, Easter Egg Hunt and Teddy Bears' Picnic to involve families, commuters and visitors.
