Distribution Centre Volunteer - Willow Wood Hospice

The Distribution Centre is a large warehouse based in Ashton under Lyne, and really is an Aladdin’s Cave. If you love working in an informal environment, are willing to “get stuck in” and enjoy being busy then this is for you. These are some of the tasks you could be involved in.

Tasks the volunteer will be required to do:

• Sorting through donated items such as household goods, furniture and clothes.
• Boxing and bagging donated items ready for distribution to our charity shops
• Labelling stock
• Assisting with regular clearance sales
• Moving furniture – this will require some physical activity
• Loading the van – this may include lifting and carrying heavy items
• Various hours and work patterns available
• Keen eye for fashion, Designers, furniture brands etc
• Recycling- items in relevant area i.e – Clothing, Shoes, Bags, Glass, Metal, Cardboard etc
• PAT tester- Electricals for resale
