Peer Mentor Volunteer

We are looking for people with lived experience of the Criminal Justice system and community services to be a part of our diverse team. Sharing your own lived experience of what helped you and the knowledge you have built navigating those support services. The aim of a Community Peer Mentor Volunteer is to promote hope and opportunity for change for those going through challenging situations. Our service users tell us that they value support from others who have lived experience of the criminal justice system or of vulnerabilities such as housing issues, mental health challenges, substance misuse, to name a few. It is part of the national NHS Five Year Plan to integrate people with lived experience of such difficulties themselves, into the workforce. Our service users tell us that they would welcome support from someone who has experience of what they are going through, in order to help them in their recovery journey. We have feedback from many service users supported by our Volunteers, that tells us that creating this connection between peers offers hope, aspiration and motivation.
