Tasks the volunteer will be required to do:

The role will involve many different duties which may include:
• Assisting in our group support sessions. We do many different groups that focus on self esteem/ confidence building/ healthy relationships/ mental health and parenting. Assisting the group facilitator may involve carrying out some activities with the clients with the supervision of the facilitator and preparing some group sessions. With training and experience there are also opportunities for volunteers to facilitate groups.
• To assist staff in supporting women with complex needs including domestic abuse, substance and alcohol misuse, mental health, offending, housing and financial issues.
• To provide welfare checks to our service users by telephone and communicate these updates to staff
• General admin and office duties to support staff
• Helping with the day to day running and organizing of the Centre.
This can include general duties such as getting the rooms ready for our groups, making tea and coffee for our service users, greeting them at the door, ensuring that they have signed in and out of the building and any assisting in helping the Centre to remain clean and tidy.
• Required to attend monthly supervision meetings/team meetings.
• Required to attend training as and when required
• To work within the agreed professional boundaries at all times
• All volunteers are required to undertake a DBS check

Skill and Qualifications Required:
• Confident when working in a busy and challenging environment
• Excellent communication and organizational skills
• Ability to use own initiative
• Ability to maintain confidentiality
• Ability to manage their own wellbeing
• Enjoys working as part of a team
• Previous experience in a supporting role would be beneficial but training will be provided.
• Ability to work in accordance with the Safeguarding and Data Protection Policy
• Due to the nature of the role we are only advertising for female volunteers over the age of 18
