The role is to work with people to assist them with their debt or other money problems, including budgeting support, and to agree and implement debt solutions

Tasks the volunteer will be required to do:

● Provide a warm and welcoming atmosphere,
● Engage and build rapport internally & with visitors.
● Work with those needing advice, to make a thorough analysis of their problems and concerns,
● Help to create a plan to deal with their problems, to which they feel able to commit,
● Signpost or refer to any other sources of help or support,
● Support people as they work through the agreed plan, and help them to respond to correspondence/calls concerning the plan
● Provide them with the information and tools to enable them to make sound financial decisions in the future
● To keep accurate and up to date records of each person advised, using an online management system for which training will be given,
● To operate within the code of practice, policies and procedures of the service, in line with Financial Conduct Authority regulations
● Undertake appropriate training, and keep up to date with debt sectors matters
● Attend team meetings

Skill and Qualifications Required:

A level headed , compassionate listener , who is organised and well presented

Areas of Interest: Community, Crisis Support, Disability, Domestic violence, Ex-offenders, Families, Financial Services, Legal
