Fire Watch Volunteer

Spending time in remote locations around the reserve looking out for smoke and fire. We DO NOT require the volunteers to fight a fire.

Tasks the volunteer will be required to do:

Calling the fire service using map and gps or what3words app to determine location of fire. Calling the RSPB as above.

Minimum: 8 hours per month
Duration: Feb to Sept every year, depending on fire risk
Period: February to September

Training:

Training provided.

Skill and Qualifications Required:

Ability to drive safely and legally on the roads.
Willingness to work as a pair.
Ability to use a mobile phone (preferably a smartphone which will host what3words app).
Willingness to abide by the risk assessment
