Harpurhey Neighbourhood Project seeks an enthusiastic and dynamic part time youth worker. This is an exciting role for any individual looking for a challenge to shape new youth programmes in Harpurhey and develop new skills to enhance your career prospects.
You will work with other local youth work delivery partners to engage young people and support the delivery of young people’s workshop sessions. You will encourage the participation of young people in all aspects of curriculum planning and implementation and support them to plan, deliver and evaluate their own activities.
You will be responsible for publicising and promoting the opportunity for young people to get involved in the workshops and actively encourage young people to participate.
You will have a relevant qualification or at least two years’ experience working with young people in a youth and community work setting. You will have excellent listening and verbal communication skills and enjoy working with, and be able to relate to, young people. You should be committed to equal opportunities, young people's participation and empowerment.
Hours: 14.8 hours per week
Salary: JNC Pay points 9 to 12 (£20,865 to £23,580) pro rata. Actual pay per annum = £8,346 to £9,432
Contract: Initial 1 year contract.
