The Benevolent Fund from the Worshipful Company of Weavers is open for applications.
The fund aims to support people in trouble, particularly both adults and young people in contact with the criminal justice system, and other disadvantaged young people.
Within prisons, the Company has supported charities that teach skills and boost prisoners' self-esteem in a variety of ways; for example, using music, embroidery, counselling, letter writing, and the staffing of a restaurant.
The committee’s preference is to support small organisations.
The Company will consider funding up to £15,000 per annum and will normally award a grant for one year only.
