Organisation Profile: Cafe Mandel’s is a community cafe based at the McGrother building in Dunwood Park. Established by Right Opportunities a registered non for profit organisation. We aim to provide work related learning opportunities for young people and the wider community, by working with employers, schools and other educational organisations through project work, placements or provision. Our goal is to support individuals and groups to gain the relevant experience, which will give a real insight to the world of work. This will help to develop employability and life skills that will provide individuals to plan for the future either in training, education or employment. The cafe is a safe haven for people and families to enjoy well prepared food and refreshment. We have an onsite community and cafe allotments that will eventually provide a lot of the fruit and vegetables for our seasonal and guest menu. We plan to run regular events and workshops from the site which will include craft, baking and cooking activities.
