Community Food Harvesting Volunteer

The Volunteer team are looking for extra help over the summer with harvesting and preparing our own volunteer grown veg for veg boxes donated to the food bank.

Tasks the volunteer will be required to do:

The role will involve harvesting a range of produce weekly ahead of veg box packing day (Wednesday). You will learn techniques for harvesting different crops, how to keep them fresh and methods to prepare them for packing. The tasks will range but may include picking peas, harvesting potatoes, cutting salad or pulling carrots and spring onions. Preparation will involve washing, bunching and tying produce. This role will require someone with an attention for detail, an eye for quality control and who is prepared to finish a task once started.
We are looking for 2 or 3 volunteers weekly on a Tuesday morning and/or afternoon. This opportunity could suit individuals, bt also a small friendship or family group.
