Communication Support Group Volunteer

Support people with a communication problem in a group setting, helping people to engage, take part in related activities. Volunteers who speak Bangla/Urdu will be asked to help with some interpretation/translation we have any people requiring this at the group.

Tasks the volunteer will be required to do:

Sit with a group member and help and encourage them to take part in activities and discussions. Hand out activities, tidy up afterwards.

Requirements: Willing to travel by public transport or find own way to volunteering location
Areas of Interest: Disability, Health and wellbeing, Older people, Social care

About the host organisation

Hosted by: Stroke Association
Organisation Profile: Support Stroke survivors and their families, raise funds and awareness of stroke, work closely with Community Stroke Team, commissioned to carry out post stroke reviews. We have a group for people with Communication problems after stroke, so that people can practice supported communication. We are in need of volunteers from any community and background and welcome speakers of urdu/bangla to ensure the group is accessible and inclusive to all.
