Whit Friday Band Contest Volunteer Steward (Mossley)

Since starting in the 1870's the Whit Friday Brass Bands contests have become a cornerstone of Tameside's Cultural events calendar. Brass Bands travel from across the UK and often further afield to compete in some of the oldest brass contests in the world. The Whit Brass Bands Contests take place at multiple venues across Tameside and are run entirely by teams of dedicated local volunteers. For the past 2 years due to the pandemic it has been impossible to host the contests in real life. This is only the 3rd break in the history of the contests, with the other 2 being as a results of WW1 and WW2. The FOTWFBBC are looking for a number of volunteers to help the various committees ensure the safe and smooth running of the contests after this latest break.
