Volunteer Fire Ranger (Dove Stone and Longdendale Valley)

During dry weather the moorlands around Dove Stone are vulnerable to fire due to arson, BBQs, camp fires and discarded litter. These fires are devastating to wildlife and the fragile moorland landscape and destroy the places people love and cherish. They can also endanger the lives of people and livestock. We need volunteers to support our new Fire Rangers with duties to include: high visibility patrols of areas around Dove Stone, Crowden and Arnfield; engaging with the public around the dangers posed by campfires and BBQs; assisting with litter removal.
