Tasks the volunteer will be required to do:

we require Champions who are not afraid of helping somebody complete forms, mainly for benefits. This may entail contacting other organisations for the person.
we also require Chatter Champions - this role supports people with loneliness and our chatters contact them by phone once or twice a week to just chat. This is client led and usually gives the client a chance to talk about themselves and what they have done.
Digital Champions are a relatively new requirement. We support people in the borough who struggle to use IT for a range of things. This may be showing somebody how to set up an email account, access social media/facetime to allow them to keep in touch with family and friends. The other area we help with is supporting people to apply for jobs online. This ranges from helping them to find the job sites to helping with the application.
Literacy Champions support people who for example cannot read or only have a basic knowledge. This is a rising area and we need more support.
