Care Home Support Volunteers

To provide volunteering support to Care Homes during the covid pandemic. To undertake low level support tasks to enable Care Home staff to focus on care giving. To provide the support and encouragement necessary to enable older people, adults with disabilities and people with learning disabilities to lead good lives within a care home setting.To support individuals in a way which encourages and enables them. To work as part of a team. To do things with people rather than to, encouraging people to do for themselves with the support they require.

Tasks the volunteer will be required to do:

Assisting the care home staff team by making drinks for residents.

Assisting care home staff by engaging residents in conversations, activities and games.

Skill and Qualifications Required:

An attitude which values all people as equal, with the right to be treated with respect and full regard to be given to their culture, religion, race, age and gender.

Awareness of confidentiality and to maintain this at all times.

Ability to volunteer flexibly and often in unsociable hours.

This role requires a DBS check

There is a requirement that you are fully vaccinated (to the extent that you are eligible) before undertaking this role

You will be required to carry out a lateral flow test before any shift
