What will you be doing?
The Treasurer has a watchdog role over all aspects of financial management, working closely with other members of the Management Committee to safeguard the organisation's finances.
You will be required to attend evening committee meetings monthly.
You will be required to prepare accounts, be responsible for book-keeping, monthly management accounts and financial year end accounts.
Your will communicate the accounts to the committee, and to act as decision maker regarding to financial transactions.
It is important to note that although the Treasurer ensures that these responsibilities are met, some of the work can be delegated to club volunteers.
What are we looking for?
The ideal person will have a background in finance or similar such as banking, accounting, financial advice, pensions, mortgages, insurance etc. The role would especially suit a retired person with time on their hands.
The time commitment can vary, the time will be spent on the monthly committee meetings of 2 hours . On top of that there will be the time required for financial planning and budgeting, financial reporting, banking, book keeping and record keeping. On average the total amount of hours required on all the above tasks can amount to 4 hours per week.
