Listening Lounge Facilitator volunteer

Rochdale & District Mind run a Listening Lounge 3 evenings a week 6pm -9pm at our Wellbeing Centre in the centre of Rochdale. The Listening Lounge is open to anyone over 18 who needs to talk about their mental wellbeing and be around other people; when other day services are closed. Each Social Café is run by a team of 6 (3 volunteers and 3 staff members). Between them, they cover reception, facilitate a session, talk one to one and generally look out for people to ensure the safety of everyone.

Skill and Qualifications Required:

We are looking for volunteers who have some experience of working with vulnerable adults. Must be caring, empathetic and committed to helping others; whilst aware of boundaries and their own wellbeing.
