B:friend are looking for volunteers to befriend socially isolated older people in Tameside.
We are a small charity on a mission to end loneliness, and we need you!
We match Older Neighbours in need of more company with volunters who want to make a new friend. . For 3.6 million people aged over 65, the television is their main source of company. As the only person your neighbour may see or speak to for days at a time, your time and friendship will mean so much.

Tasks the volunteer will be required to do:
As a volunteer you pledge to call your Older Neighbour twice a week to check in and lend a friendly ear, and when the pandemic comes to an end you will spend an hour a week visiting with a cuppa and a biscuit or two in the Older Neighbour’s home. We ask that you can commit to volunteering for at least 6 months.
