Tasks the volunteer will be required to do:

After the great success of Dining Companions at Salford Royal, this project is now being rolled out.

This new project involves volunteers assisting wards at mealtimes, by offering companionship and encouragement to patients to feed themselves and feeding patients who cannot manage this on their own.

These roles are available at breakfast, lunch or dinner 7 days a week with the minimum requirement of just 1.5 hours every 3 weeks!

Skill and Qualifications Required:

You must be aged over 16 and have left school.
We only offer LONG TERM placements of 6-12 months or more. This is due to the cost of recruiting a volunteer and the mandatory recruitment checks and training both you and us need to undertake beforehand.
We do not take on to cover school holidays.
You need to be able to commit to a minimum of 1 session a week (maximum of 3) on a regular basis. A session is classed as 4/5 hours.
Volunteering is NOT the same as work experience
Work experience cannot be obtained via Voluntary Services.
