Project volunteer East African Lives

East African Lives is a multi - media project that aims to capture the memories and emotions of people’s life experiences in East Africa, this will be focusing on people in the Greater Manchester. The project will help people become aware of the trials and tribulations faced in the country and the emotions behind them, the project will celebrate and help preserve the community’s achievements and contributions to British society and for the community to take ownership of their achievements and heritage. As part of the project up to 20 interviews will be conducted with contributions sought from men and woman of all ages.

Organisation Profile: We first hit the airwaves on 8th December 1999 broadcasting as Radio Ramadhan Rochdale. Since our inception CCR has continued to grow and progress into a full term permanent community radio station. Broadcasting in English and other community languages, our aim is to encourage as much participation from all members of local community regardless of religious inclination.
