Volunteer Dining Companion

PLEASE NOTE THIS VOLUNTEER ROLE IS FOR TAMESIDE AND GLOSSOP RESIDENTS ONLY. Some of the hospital patients who have a healthy swallow may suffer form other problems which prevents them from eating their meal; for example, the patients may have little use of their hand/arm after a stroke. After a full day's training, the volunteer Dining Companion is able to help the patient to eat their meal and this means that, where possible, the patient is able to recover at a faster rate.
