Toy Appeal & Silly Santa

Tameside Christmas Toy Appeal

You can help make this Christmas one to remember for a Tameside child. Around 10,490 children in Tameside live in poverty. They won't wake up to find presents under a brightly lit tree. With your support, the Tameside Christmas Toy Appeal can change this.

Can you donate a new, unwrapped toy to make a Tameside child smile this Christmas? If you can afford just one extra toy this year, please donate it to the Tameside Christmas Toy Appeal. For children aged from birth to eighteen years old, who may not receive a present.

Gift ideas

Children aged 0-3 years old: building blocks, rattles, books,  playsets

Children aged 4-12 years old: board games, books, craft sets, educational toys, super hero figures, dolls

Dress Up Silly For Santa

Silliness will be sweeping the borough on Friday 15 December for Tameside 4 Good's  “Dress Up Silly for Santa” day.  People in businesses and schools around the area will be donning wacky hats, flashing beards and elf suits while donating £2 each to raise money for the Fund.

If you want to see your friends and colleagues look silly and do something kind for your local community this Christmas.  Every business, school or group that registers is sent a fundraising pack including a badge and to award for the Best Dressed #SillySanta in your organisation.  The overall winner for 2017 is chosen from social media shares.  We have an additional category for animals, so get those pet-elfie-selfies in too.
