Tesco Stronger Starts

Aims/priorities:  To support local community projects who are helping children and young people to get a “stronger start”. This might involve buying equipment for activities, supporting after-school clubs or youth clubs, or starting up a project, for example.

Who can apply? The scheme is open to all schools, registered charities and not-for-profit organisations, with priority given to projects that provide food and support to young people.

Grant amount: £500-£1,500 depending on voting outcome.

Successful applicants will go into  voting boxes in-store, where customers will be able to vote for their favourite cause using blue tokens given to them after their shop. Once in-store, groups will be guaranteed £500. 2nd place will receive £1,000 and 1st place £1,500.

Application process: Groups can apply through a simple online form, which can be found here: Apply for a grant

If initially unsuccessful, groups will be entered into a rolling application and may enter store in later rounds; no repeat applications are necessary.
