PossAbilities Employment Team have a couple of spaces left on our SES Specialist Employment Service provision. This is a programme for people who have sight impairments who would like some assistance with their job search endeavours.
The referral window does close Mid November but the SES provision will continue for a further twelve months without employment or achieve paid employment before then (with tracking period included).
Customers can come on board with our Rochdale team, to gain up to twelve months of support, to help them develop employability skills such as communication, presentation, writing applications (speculative or for advertised vacancies), interview skills and to help them deal with other issues such as confidence and motivation, getting grants for equipment and finding suitable training.
There will also be action planning, coaching and signposting to relevant services, setting up voluntary placements and providing initial in work support to ensure the best chance of sustainment. We can do home visits in most circumstances.
If a person needs computer/laptop equipment, we will be able to apply to get them one on loan for their period on programme, to help them get up and running with IT skills.
