Creative Health
Creative Health is a CIC working in Rochdale to reduce isolation in the over 60's through participation in art. Online group sessions via zoom (unless stated - all sessions are available to everyone). Approx. 1 hour:
- Drawing - Pencils, charcoal, chalks, pastels, still life, patterns, abstract, mark making, perspective
- Painting - watercolours, acrylics, inks
- Collage - paper, wood, metal, all sorts PVA
- Craft Projects - decorations, ornaments, sewing, clay, printmaking, lightcatchers
Participants need to have a smart device and ideally a wifi connection. Creative Health will have some devices with data on for the New Year. It will also do tutorials for anyone who is booked but feeling nervous. There are two cameras one on the tutor's hands and one on the tutor's face to guide people through the exercises.
In this booklet you will find some simple and affordable recipes, tried and tested by our staff, volunteers and clients. Handy tips are added to help you think about storage, batch cooking and where you can get more from your diet by adding extra nutrition.
Kooth - Your Online Mental Wellbeing Community
There are many reasons why you might not be feeling the Christmas spirit this year: it could be worries about Covid, struggles with loneliness, social anxiety, family difficulties or dealing with the loss of a loved one. These issues can be particularly hard to talk about this time of year, as it may feel like everyone would rather try and enjoy the festivities than listen to someone’s problems. This is why it’s so important to know you’re not alone in any hard times you’re experiencing.
If you ever feel you don’t know who to talk to over the festive season, Kooth is open on Christmas Eve, Christmas Day and Boxing Day with our team of counsellors available for you to talk to. Sometimes it can help just to know you’re not alone in what you’re feeling! Click here to visit Kooth at anytime.
GMCA Ageing Hub, have launched the Keeping Well this Winter campaign to support older residents in the city region with practical information to keep safe and well this winter.
This booklet is designed for older people so that we can all look after ourselves, our family and friends this winter and I’d encourage you to have a look at the advice and information. The information includes: Money matters, Moving more, Exercises, Keeping nourished and more!
