In November 2017, Greater Manchester was confirmed as one of Sport England’s Local Delivery Pilot areas. Greater Manchester Health & Social Care Partnership will work with Sport England on bold new approaches to build healthier, more active communities across GM focusing on three distinct audiences:

  • Children and young people aged 5-18 in out-of-school settings.
  • People out of work and people in work but at risk of becoming workless.
  • People aged 40-60 with, or at risk of, long term conditions: specifically cancer, cardiovascular disease and respiratory disorders.

The Local Delivery Pilot will enable an acceleration of the scale, pace and depth to the GM Moving implementation, with these three priority audiences and some key cross cutting themes including mental health and wellbeing, the inactive and reducing inequalities.

To prepare to enter the Greater Manchester/Sport England Local Delivery Pilot implementation phase, Greater Manchester Health & Social Care Partnership are organising a series of engagement approaches, in order to build on the evidence, data and insight around each of the Local Delivery Pilot audiences, and the cross cutting themes.

Greater Manchester Health & Social Care Partnership are convening a series of sessions with the audiences themselves, the workforces that they engage with, lead partners and national/GM leaders, to consider the information, identify any gaps and focus in on the priorities and investible propositions.

Small focus groups of audience related professionals and local professionals in place will take place mid-April for each priority audience.

You're invited to participate in a Greater Manchester/Sport England Local Delivery Pilot consultation event around People out of work and people in work but at risk of becoming workless. As part of the workforce that supports this audience to be more active, your experiences, views and insight will be hugely valuable in this work.

The event will take place as follows:

Date: Wednesday 18 April

Time: 13:30 - 16:30

Venue: The Studio Manchester: The Hive – Manchester City Centre
