Grants of up to £10,000 are available to a range of organisations for group activities that support women aged 16 years and older to get active by overcoming barriers.
The funding is intended for local community projects that will contribute to overcoming the barriers some women face in getting active, whether from a lack of opportunities in their local area to the cost and availability of childcare.
The funding is for activities that increase the heart rate of women aged 16 years and over, 'in whatever form that may take' whether through Bollywood dancing, walking, boxing or yoga, etc.
Groups are invited to share their ideas of how to get more local women more active.
Ideas can have a short-term focus or provide longer-term support to help women achieve sustainable behaviour change.
The decisions on which ideas to support will be based on the difference that can be made with the funding rather than the items or services bought with it.
The deadline for initial submissions is 25 February 2020.
