Charity Bank have compiled an extensive list of emergency funding opportunities for social sector organisations experiencing difficulties.

This includes funding available from the National Emergencies Trust, John Lewis Partnership Community Support Fund, and many more local and national initiatives.

CAF's Coronavirus Emergency Fund

CAF Coronavirus Emergency Fund *Please note the fund has been paused due to exceptional levels of demand*

We are delighted to be able to share that the Charities Aid Foundation, the organisation that leads Giving Tuesday here in the UK, has launched a £5 million Coronavirus Emergency Fund for small charities and organisations as they battle the effects of the coronavirus.

The Peter Cruddas Foundation - Funding for Projects that Support Disadvantaged and Disengaged Young People

Registered charities in England and Wales can apply for funding for projects that help disadvantaged and disengaged young people in England and Wales.

Priority is given to projects designed to help disadvantaged and disengaged young people in the age range of 14 to 30, to pursue pathways to Education, Training and Employment with the ultimate aim of helping them to become financially independent.

There is no minimum or maximum amount and projects can be funded for more than one year.

Recognise volunteers in the charity sector.

Room to Reward is a unique volunteer-recognition charity created to say ‘thank you’ to the Hidden Heroes – inspirational volunteers who give up their time to make a difference to those who need it most.

Partner hotels donate their unsold rooms, charities and community groups nominate their Hidden Heroes for a break – Room to Reward make it happen!

The charity launched in 2015 and since then some 220 hotels have joined the scheme. It aims to reallocate unsold rooms to "hidden heroes" who work to help others.

Big Local Treasure - Deadline postponed

Due to the Covid 19 outbreak, we have decided to postpone the deadline for applications. 

Big Local Treasure aims to support community activity delivered by and for the community of the Clarksfield, Greenacres and Littlemoor areas of Big Local Oldham.

The most important and valuable thing for our community is the people.

Our vision is for our streets and our neighbourhood to be cleaner, feel safer and be more inviting for everyone.  We want to fund at least five projects / ideas / activities that help the people of our communities:

Magic Little Grants Return for 2020

Local charities and community groups can apply from 10 March for a Magic Little Grant of £500 for community projects that support and inspire people to participate in physical activity.

Localgiving, the online fundraising platform, and the Postcode Community Trust are working together again in 2020 to provide more 900 small grants to small local charities and community groups in England, Scotland and Wales.

The Royal Statistical Society

Many third sector organisations use data and statistics for a wide range of purposes, including measuring impact and outcomes. However, some charities lack people with the appropriate skills and resources for statistical analysis, which could help with making better decisions and informing policy.

The Royal Statistical Society (RSS) can help charities with this, after the National Lottery Community Fund awarded it almost £400k of funding to support its Statisticians for Society project.

Project Development Funding for Churches

The Gateway Grant Programme is currently open. The deadline is 10 September (for a decision in November)

The Gateway Grant Programme offers grants of between £3,000 and £10,000 towards project development and investigative work up to RIBA planning stage 1, to support churches preparing for a major project, and in developing their project to the point at which they can approach a major grant funder. Grants will never exceed 50% of the net project costs for this phase.
