Being There - Face to face and telephone befriending
Face to face and telephone befriending offered on a weekly/fortnightly basis for up to 6 months. Being There is a local charity providing emotional support and practical assistance to people with cancer and other life-limiting illnesses, along with those closest to them, such as family, friends and carers. Being There provides volunteers trained to listen and respond to concerns and worries to ensure people feel heard. This helps to promote well-being, reduces the risk of anxiety and keeps people connected to others. This service is for people with life limiting illnesses conditions such as cancer, stroke, heart and respiratory illnesses. We also support carers by offering respite and counselling.
