Drop-In CentreA Place of Welcome for Everyone. A designated Red Cross Drop-in Centre for Refugees and Asylum Seeker. Refreshments will be provided throughout the day and a basic hot meal will be provided at luch time. As part of the drop-in Red Cross will be providing grants to Refugees and Asylum seekers who meet eligibility requirments for their support. In addition we plan to provide: - ESOL classes - based on the spoken word - A hub providing space for other organisations such as the Health Service, Tameside MBC, Jigsaw, SERCO, Ashton Pioneer Homes, Action Together to offer their services. - A signposting service to other organisations in Tameside. All are welcome, but we are aware of a particular need for Refugees and Asylum seekers in this area of Tameside.

St James Church is situated in the northern part of Ashton town centre, Cowhill Lane, Ashton. We believe we are on an outward looking church, ready to reach out to all members within the local neighbourhoods. We promote the love of God within the community of our worshipping congregation and strive to extend this love to all user of the church and community room. We serve a range of ethnic groups and have recently set up links with Nepali speaking congregation.
St James Church promotes excellent links with its two church schools. To strengthen these links, once a month we have a 'Café Chruch' when a class from either school attends and links up with church members.Charity Number: 1134826
