New GP practice survey

There have been many changes at GP practices recently, including:

• Use of online booking
• New types of clinician including Advanced Nurse Practitioners, Paramedics, Associate Physicians, Clinical pharmacists, etc.
• Use of Care Navigation - the person answering the phone signposts to the most suitable service
• Setting up Primary Care Networks with shared resources

We have been hearing about people’s experiences, and now want to collect more detail. We have a new survey, asking about your experiences of using GP practices in the last 12 months.

Young adults mental health peer research project

42nd Street are carrying out this project across Greater Manchester. They are exploring the needs and experiences of young adults when it comes to accessing support for their mental health and wellbeing.

Patient and public involvement

The Manchester Academy for Healthcare Science Education (MAHSE) link with the NHS to provide health care training to scientists.

They are looking at recruiting lay representatives as casual workers who would have an input in the way they teach. For more information see http://mahse.co.uk/for-the-public/patient-and-public-involvement/
