Health and wellbeing strategy consultation

The Health and Wellbeing Board - a partnership of organisations including the local authority, NHS partners, and the Voluntary, Community, and Social Enterprise Sector - have set out a series of ambitions to improve the health of Tameside residents and reduce the inequalities many communities in Tameside experience. These ambitions are set out in the draft Health and Wellbeing Strategy and Locality Plan.

In our last ebulletin, we provided details of an online event where this plan will be discussed, on Thursday 24th August, from 6:00pm - 7:00pm. You can book a place at the event at www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/partnership-engagement-network-health-and-wellbeing-tickets-680738676707?aff=oddtdtcreator

If you are unable to attend the event, but are interested in taking part in the consultation, information about the plan and a survey for completion are available at www.surveymonkey.co.uk/r/TamesideHWBStrategy

The closing date for the consultation is 29 August 2023.

CPR community network

The CPR Community Network is a partnership between St John Ambulance and the NHS, supported by the Association for Ambulance Chief Executives (AACE), who represent Ambulance Trusts, British Heart Foundation (BHF) and Resuscitation Council UK (RCUK).

The CPR Community Network wants to ensure that no one dies through lack of Emergency First Aid provision or resources, in their local area and in their community. As part of this work they have released a British Sign Language Emergency First Aid film, featuring Deaf Actor, Alex Nowak, and Deaf/Hard of Hearing First Aiders within in St John to create a resource so that Deaf people know what to do if they find someone in cardiac arrest.

They worked in collaboration with 999BSL, which is an Ofcom registered Emergency Video Relay Service (VRS) that connects a Deaf person to emergency services via a British Sign Language interpreter.

To find out more, and to watch the short film, see www.sja.org.uk/get-advice/cpr-community-network/
