Delays in non-urgent care survey report
What did people tell us about their experience of delays to care since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic? Find out in this report.
While you wait
In October 2021, While You Wait (https://whileyouwait.org.uk/) launched to support people who are on the waiting list for planned hospital care. The website is designed to provide people with information and advice, including things they can do to help manage their physical and mental health while they wait for their appointment or treatment.
They have now launched new pages for people waiting for Orthopaedics, Gastro and Children’s surgery. They can be accessed through “Your treatment” on the navigation bar at the top of the page.
Next PEN conference
Tameside & Glossop Partnership Engagement Network (PEN) are holding their first hybrid conference. You are invited to attend in person, or online from home, to hear about and have your say on topics of importance in Tameside.
The conference will be held on Thursday 20th October, 1:30pm - 4:30pm at Dukinfield Town Hall.
They will be discussing the relationships between public bodies and local communities in Tameside. They want to understand how they can best build and have meaningful conversations with local communities through engagement and co-design/co-production.
You will be informed of other topics to be discussed in due course.
In the meantime, you can register to attend the event at www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/partnership-engagement-network-conference-tickets-416041069037. When you register, please indicate whether you will attend in person or online.

Neurorehabilitation patient and carer group
A new patient and carer group is looking for around 12 lay members to join them. The group will support the Greater Manchester Neurorehabilitation & Integrated Stroke Delivery Network in improving services for people with neurological conditions (except for stroke as there is a separate group already for this). The network is an NHS organisation hosted by the Northern Care Alliance that works with providers and commissioners of neurological care as well as the voluntary sector and academics etc. within Greater Manchester.
More information about the group and who they are looking for can be found at https://gmnisdn.org.uk/news/netowrk-seeks-members-to-join-neurorehabilitation-patient-carer-group/
