Healthwatch England annual report

Social prescribing

Tameside’s Social Prescribing team supports individuals to focus on improving their wellbeing, through meeting new people and trying new activities in the local community.

Pharmacy Needs Assessment

Pharmaceutical Needs Assessments are used by the NHS to decide whether to approve applications for new pharmacies in an area and by commissioners to identify local health needs that could be addressed by pharmacy services.

MMR childhood vaccinations

A new campaign has been launched to encourage parents and guardians of children aged 1 to 5 years to check that their children’s MMR (Measles, Mumps and Rubella) vaccines are up to date and those that may have missed their appointments during the pandemic are to contact their GP practice.

Be Well Tameside

The Be Well Tameside health improvement service is transferring from Pennine Care NHS Foundation Trust to the public health team in Tameside Council.

As staff and systems are moved across, the service will be closed for referrals from Wednesday 16 February 2022 until the service fully reopens on Tuesday 19 April 2022.

The service will continue to support existing clients until Friday 18 March 2022.  After this date those clients will receive limited support by telephone where necessary.

COVID-19

All adults are being offered booster jabs (at least 3 months after the second jab). First and second jabs are also available.
