Mental health support
Here is an update on services for July 2021:

Minds Matter -  support people whose low mood and anxiety is caused predominantly by social issues. People must be aged 16 or over and live in Tameside or Glossop and/or are registered with a Tameside or Glossop GP. Minds Matter have a focus on community engagement and work collaboratively with other agencies, to reduce the stigmas around mental health and to ensure that people are aware of services available to support them should they ever need it. More information can be found at www.thebiglifegroup.com/service/mindsmatter/
They have online workshops available in July via Zoom.

The Talk Shop - previously, this service at The Anthony Seddon Fund had moved to bookings only, but they are going to try running it as a drop-in service again. Strict Covid guidelines and safety precautions must be adhered to at all times. For more information see https://tasfund.org.uk/the-talk-shop/ and this poster.

NHS Tameside and Glossop Clinical Commissioning Group

Targeted lung checks

Past and current smokers in Tameside and Glossop are being invited to an NHS lung health check in a drive to improve earlier diagnosis of lung cancer and save more lives.

The initiative means more than 58,000 people aged 55 to 74 in the area will be invited to a lung health check by their GP, and over 65% will be eligible for an appointment. Over two years, this will identify an estimated 400 cases of lung cancer earlier than otherwise would have been.
